TWEC operates under a letter of compliance from the NC Department of
Child Development. While we meet all of the standards required for a
three-star or above child care center, we choose not to be licensed
because we want to choose a curriculum that is Christ-centered, and we
want to employ only Christian staff members. Some licensed church
operated centers in parts of our state have had struggles over these
issues. Operating under the letter of compliance eliminates potential
problems in these two important areas.
The "letter of compliance" means that we maintain health and safety
standards (including space requirements) as required by all licensed
centers. It also implies that we carefully maintain proper child/teacher
ratios as required by the Department of Child Development.
The distinctive of TWEC is that we are the only church-owned and
operated child care facility in the city of Eden at the present time. We
view our services as a ministry, not only to your child, but to your whole
family as well.
